Announcing the Pediatric Council Immunization Toolkit! Immunization Initiatives Newsletter - July 2006 Many pediatricians have recently voiced frustrations over their payment from third party payers for vaccine and vaccine administration. The Private Payer Advocacy Advisory Committee, in collaboration with the Childhood Immunization Support Program, has created a Pediatric Council Immunization Toolkion CD-ROM in order to help AAP Chapter Pediatric Councils initiate discussions with payers to imcoverage and payments for vaccines and immunization administration. 
The Pediatric Council Immunization Toolkit includes: Talking points and a template presentation for discussions with payers, Letters and sample appeal letter templates to payers, Model Contract Language for Vaccines, AAP Resources on Immunization Finance Resources, AAP Immunization Policies, Clinical Guidelines, and Technical Reports, Information on the AAP Private Payer Advocacy Advisory Committee, And Information on establishing an AAP Chapter Pediatric Council.
A copy of this CD-ROM has been mailed to all AAP Chapter Executive Directors, Presidents, and Pediatric Council or Private Payer Advocacy liaisons. An electronic version will also be available on the AAP Member Center by clicking "Private Payer Advocacy" on the right side of the page after logging in (www.aap.org/moc). This version will be updated as new resources are available.
